Tabernacle (Veiled Presence)

In 2009, I enrolled in a Master's program the Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum in Rome. It's a pontifical academy which operates in conjunction with both the European University in Rome and the Vatican. My Master's is in Architecture, Sacred Arts and Liturgy - in a nutshell, I studied the artistic languages of the Catholic Church and how they relate to ritual practice. This is the full scale model in plaster for a tabernacle I designed as my thesis project. For a complete explanation of the symbolism and allegorical content of this work, you can download my thesis defense (in English, and less than 20 pages, but about 5 megabytes) as a pdf file here - TM00009852.pdf
